"As for hormones, that's news to me, that they could be used for anything besides menopause relief. But I'm working on it."
"Methylphenidate." César rattles off after a polite pause. "Unfortunately, I didn't study the extended release information enough to be able to reverse engineer it for use here. I'm from 2013, so likely decently ahead of you."

"It's honestly pretty amazing how it works for something so simple. I could write down what I know if you can spare the paper? At least the basics, so you can read up on it at your leisure. I know about the magic potions, but it might be useful to have more options."
"That'd be splendid. But I do know what methylphenidate is, thankfully! It was for narcolepsy back in the day. I can figure out how to make it extended release, gimme like a week."
César looks stunned, hopeful but stunned. "... really? No pill juggling for me? Just one a day?"
The hormone part will be picked back up in a second, but the relief is palpable. It was just going to be one more thing to remember about consistently on top of everything else he'll be doing.
"I've done it before! With, uh. Other medications I've made, yes," Sally agrees. "It's just a matter of modifying the medium that the chemical is attached to so as to slow the rate of dissolution. Grade school stuff! I got it under control. The biggest trouble is sourcing ingredients--- and working with dated tech. Ugh, what I wouldn't give for a good engineer."
She chuckles at herself. "But I'm rambling. Like I said, give me a bit to do some maths and play around and I'll figure it out."
"I love it when what seems to be a complex problem for you ends up being a simpler problem for someone else." César grins. "I don't mind rambling. But if you've got any ideas on what you'd like, throw them Tarantulas's way. He's got several of us science-and-engineering-minded people in one place. That'd be the most efficient."
César rubs his hands together, which may or may not be interesting to a baby Gwen. "So the other business! If you can spare paper, I'll show you what I know about hormones. Have you heard any potions for hair removal or growth, too? Or who I could ask about that?"
Magne said getting rid of her facial hair was a priority, so César's making it a priority to ask.
Sally passes him a sheet of paper. "I can't say I know the details of potions, but the alchemist up the way, Aeryn, they're a sweetheart. A wizard at their craft, too, quite literally. We pass clients back and forth like ping pong."
César listens to that before starting to write on the paper. Reminds himself of Aeryn's pronouns.
"I'm definitely going to visit them after. Guesswork of what's available just won't do. Speaking of...."
He descends into a high level overview of what he knows about HRT. Changes in the body and brain. Some of the differences in the brain from even before taking HRT. The lengths of time. What it can and can't do. A general idea of dosages, although he doesn't remember the exact science. Some of the risks that he can recall. And he writes it all down so that she doesn't have to remember it perfectly. If there are questions, those get written down and answered as well.
"I'm not a doctor, however, so I don't have the qualifications to monitor treatment. All of my knowledge is because my parents and I studied it to make sure our project back home wouldn't interfere or even worse, reverse, treatment. Enough to know we could prevent that, but still not enough to be able to give a full treatment plan or anything like that. A start, though."
... also note that César's LITERALLY going to go straight up to the alchemist and ask about treatments, and if they have a little pamphlet or other literature. He does not half-ass offering people help figuring out what their options are. This man full-asses it.
